One thing that hurt me - in fact i had been taught to avoid it quite late - is abuse of abbreviations. It isn't good to write triple times, in the same phrase, - i've i'd i've where the second intended to mean "i had". It's not an aesthetical issue only, but also matter of readability and proper understanding too
